Mill Creek Neighbors Celebrate St. Paddy’s Day

St. Paddy's Day group photo - Mill Creek Village

On Friday, March 17, 2023, nearly 50 current and former residents of Mill Creek Towne came together at the lovely home of Robbie and Ed Ludwig to celebrate at Mill Creek Village’s 5th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party. The Ludwig home and participants were adorned in green with shamrocks and leprechauns in various rooms. There were delicious Irish and other dishes, desserts, and plenty of beverages to raise spirits as neighbors enjoyed one another’s company and caught up on news in anticipation of spring!

The evening was dedicated to Barbara Feldmann, Village co-founder who passed away recently. She and her husband Richard hosted previous St. Paddy’s Day gatherings.  Village President Joe Isaacs offered a toast in Barbara’s memory and shared the following Irish Blessing with the crowd:

“May flowers always line your path, and sunshine light your day. May songbirds serenade you every step along the way. May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that is always blue. And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through.”

Village Director Emeritus, Sue Richardson, then shared fond memories of her dear friend Barbara, causing both laughter and tears. Several others in attendance shared their special reminiscences of Barbara as a neighborhood mom, volunteer and one tough but caring individual. Her husband Richard and daughter Linda then thanked everyone for their sympathies and kindness and conveyed their own heartfelt feelings about their lost loved one. We were all reminded of what a wonderfully caring community we are fortunate to live in.

It was a truly delightful evening of friendship and fun!  Here are some photos from the event. These and others can also be found in the photo gallery of the “Gallery” page of our website at https://www.millcreekvillage.org/gallery

Thank you again to Robbie and Ed for being such gracious hosts! We also greatly appreciated those who gave donations to the Village and participated in our 50-50 raffle! Erin go bragh!
