Sponsorships

Mill Creek Towne in Derwood, MD contains more than 750 households and 2200 residents that patronize local commercial establishments and service vendors on a regular basis. Since 2013, Mill Creek Village (MCV) has been a nonprofit charitable service organization dedicated to assisting aging neighbors (60 years of age and older) in Mill Creek Towne to remain in their homes and continue to live independently in the face of illness, injury, and loneliness. Built in the mid-1960’s, Mill Creek Towne residents include many who have lived in their homes for more than 30 years and as many as 50-plus years. We provide, free of charge, transportation assistance to important medical and other appointments, friendly home visits, check-in phone calls, grocery shopping. Prescription pick-up and some meal preparation or delivery.

MCV is operated solely by volunteers who comprise a “Village” of neighbors helping neighbors in a respectful and  compassionate manner to “age in place.” As a community service organization, MCV also serves all Mill Creek Towne neighbors by publishing an e-newsletter (circulation 500-plus) to inform neighbors about community news, entertainment and learning opportunities aging-related programs and activities in our area. The Village also hosts this dynamic website, an informative social media page on Facebook and a Welcome Wagon to greet new neighbors.

The Village also conducts the eight neighborhood-wide social events annually to promote a caring, informed and socially-connected community. These events also provide valuable marketing opportunities for sponsors to gain recognition with residents, as flyers acknowledging them are circulated door-to-door for each event. That sponsor acknowledgement also appears in our newsletter and social media posts for each event. The annual events include:

Mill Creek Village gratefully accepts donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations to carry out its mission at no cost to those we serve. Because we are recognized as a 501 c (3) charitable organization by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, donations to the Village are tax deductible.

Business Sponsorship Tiers and Associated Benefits

Mill Creek Village offers businesses the following tiered sponsorship opportunities:

“Rhodium” Sponsor (A donation of $500 or more): Your business will be listed by this giving tier on the MCV website with a direct link to your website and on the flyers and online announcements for all eight (8) annual MCV community events.

“Platinum” Sponsor (A donation between $400 and $499):  Your business will be listed by this giving tier on the MCV website with a direct link to your website and on the flyers and online announcements for six (6) annual MCV community events of your choice.

 “Gold” Sponsor (A donation between $300 and $399):  Your business will be listed by this giving tier on the MCV website with a direct link to your website and on the flyers and online announcements for four (4) annual MCV community events of your choice.

 “Silver” Sponsor (A donation between $200 and $299):  Your business will be listed by this giving tier on the MCV website with a direct link to your website and on the flyers and online announcements for three (3) annual MCV community events of your choice. 

 “Bronze” Sponsor (A donation between $100 and $199):  Your business will be listed by this giving tier on the MCV website with a direct link to your website and on the flyers and online announcements for two (2) annual MCV community events of your choice.

Single Event Support:  (A donation of $75): Your business will be listed on the flyer and online announcements for one (1) annual MCV community event of your choice but will not appear as a tiered sponsor on the MCV website. 

MCV is governed by federal IRS and Maryland state regulations regarding what it can accept from donors and what it can do in return for those donations.  To comply with its service mandate and these rules, Mill Creek Village (MCV) welcomes sponsorships from its business neighbors subject to the following guidelines.

MCV’s Sponsorship Guidelines

MCV solicits and gratefully accepts corporate sponsorships as a mutually-beneficial exchange.  MCV receives cash or in-kind donations from a sponsor. The sponsor receives acknowledgement(s) commensurate with its giving level and a formal receipt from MCV for tax-purposes.

MCV chooses which sponsorships it wishes to accept and reserves the right to reject any sponsorship offer.

MCV does not accept advertising or communicate promotional language from businesses under its sponsorship program.

MCV does not endorse —either explicitly or implicitly— sponsors, nor does it endorse those sponsors’ products, services, or ideas.   Mill Creek Village will not place in its communication vehicles qualitative or comparative descriptions of a sponsor’s products, services, facilities, or company (as this would be considered a “substantial return benefit” by the IRS). 

Sponsor acknowledgements will essentially state that “Mill Creek Village gratefully recognizes the following local businesses for their kind support of our community service efforts.”  The sponsors will be listed in order of their giving levels from highest to lowest and in alphabetical order within each contribution tier.

MCV has no control over opinions, either positive or negative, held by neighbors about donors/sponsors and therefore cannot be held responsible for those opinions.

MCV retains full control of its work, program, and content. Sponsors do not have any authority over MCV operations.

MCV retains the right to review and approve all communications regarding a sponsorship. This includes—but is not limited to—announcements, articles, social media postings and press releases about the sponsorship.
