On Sunday, July 26th, over 100 neighbors of all ages enjoyed the annual Mill Creek Village (MCV) Ice Cream Social held on Potters Mill Court, one of Mill Creek Towne’s lovely cul-de-sacs. They enjoyed a variety of delicious Breyer’s ice cream flavors and toppings, as well as frozen fruit bars and Drumsticks. Many gleefully admitted that they went back for second and third helpings on a day when the temperature was in the mid-eighties. For this event, the Village raffled off Guest Passes for Two for the Pool’s 2026 Season. Five lucky neighbors won the guest passes – see pictures of the winners in our photo gallery.
As one of the nine free community events MCV hosts each year, our Ice Cream Social provides residents with a chance to meet and mingle with their neighbors, catch up with friends, make new acquaintances, and watch their children play safely with other children, all while savoring delightful cool treats on a summer afternoon.
Special thanks to Susana Castillo for coordinating the event as the Village’s Social Committee Chairperson, with help from Wendy Epstein, Anna McBain, Jon Solyst, and Pat Stone. Nancy Brady served as resident photographer and provided this event summary. Katie Becker organized a driveway/street chalk drawing activity for youngsters.
Please enjoy the Ice Cream Social photos below.
All leftover, unopened ice cream and toppings were donated to the Interfaith Works program based in Rockville, MD. Like the Village, Interfaith Works (IW) is a 501(c)(3) charitable, nonprofit organization. IW provides emergency shelter, supportive housing, essential needs, and employment programs to over 35,000 residents of Montgomery County, MD, every year.
The next Village event will be a new event for this year – MCV Game Night at the Pool, scheduled to be held at the Mill Creek Towne Swim Association – Home of the Marlins Pool on Wednesday, August 5, between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Please mark your calendar now!
Please note: This is an outdoor event and may be rescheduled or cancelled in the event of inclement weather. Check online at our website at https://millcreekvillage.org for information on status.
