After six-plus years as the Administrator/Moderator of this Facebook page, I (Joe Isaacs) am stepping away from my keyboard and handing the reins, at least for now, to two terrific Mill Creek Village volunteers – Nancy Brady, who is our newsletter editor and website administrator, and Dan Kulpinski, who provides our senior residents with tech support and also serves as one our drivers, taking our senior neighbors to their medical and other appointments.

If you are a Facebook subscriber, are a resident of Mill Creek Towne, and have an interest in helping your local community services organization, we would welcome your interest in serving as the Village’s next Facebook page moderator. The role demands about 3-5 hours weekly, depending on the volume of news and activities to report and your technology savvy. I have no doubt that future moderators can perform the job with greater speed than I have.
Being Facebook moderator is not only a very meaningful way to serve your community. It also a great way keep yourself abreast of what is going on in and around our community, and, as my wife and I can attest, take advantage of many opportunities for fun, learning, and enjoyment (most often at no cost) in our area. We have participated in free festivals, concerts, recreational activities, plays, dance recitals, art exhibits, and more, based on what I have shared with our Facebook page followers since 2019. Only the administrators or moderators determine what is posted. Readers can then respond, but it is not a page with open-posting by all!
I want to express my sincere appreciation to those who have visited with us on Facebook over these years. We started with 3 followers and, allowing it to grow organically (with no active marketing), now have 224. I hope you have enjoyed, and will continue to follow, our coverage of Village events and the many exciting things happening around us, including developments that may well have direct impacts on our and our family’s lives.
We have a position description for the Facebook Moderator role that we are happy to share with any neighbor with a Facebook account that wishes to be part of Mill Creek Village’s efforts to foster a caring, socially connected, and regularly informed community. Again, it has been a privilege to serve our community in various roles since 2017. If you are interested in learning more about the Facebook Moderator role, please contact the Village at (240) 686 -5870 or mctvillage@gmail.com and we will follow up with you.
