After being postponed for a week, Mill Creek Village was able to host its 6th annual Wine and Cheese Party on Saturday, October 21 at the home of Mary Anne Hardy and Larry Adkins. Late morning rains raised concerns that the event might have to be cancelled. Bit by the afternoon, mostly gray skies and a brisk wind gave way to intermittent sunshine and milder breezes. The weather change brought out 25 of our neighbors to share an array of wines, charcuterie, chips, pretzels, fruits, and desserts for a backyard gathering.
Those in attendance not only enjoyed the food and drinks, but even more so the active conversations they were engaged in with their neighbors over the 2-1/2-hour event. Many made new acquaintances! Mill Creek Village Board member Kristin Mitas gave everyone a good laugh when she arrived from a costume party and signed in as Barbie. See if you can pick her out in the attached photos from the party.
This was the final of seven community-wide social events hosted by Mill Creek Village this year, in which the Village proudly celebrated its 10th Anniversary of service to residents of Mill Creek Towne. Special thanks to our very hospitable host Mary Anne Hardy, as well as to Jen Black, our Vice President, and Social Committee Chair for coordinating the event. The Village is also grateful to our wonderful donors and business sponsors who help us put on these events and assist our elderly and disabled neighbors without charging the participants any fees or dues.
We hope to see more of our neighbors at events in 2024, when we will start the year with our annual Game Night in January. Look for announcements and flyers. The Mill Creek Village Board wishes all our neighbors a very Happy Thanksgiving! We appreciate greatly the caring and socially connected community in which we live!
